2008 The BUNYIP

The Bunyip is a creature that inhabits rushy swamps, billabongs and Lamont’s bottling hall. Often portrayed in Aboriginal legend as an evil spirit, the Bunyip of Lamont’s is friendly and pink! He helps the winemaker to pass time while undertaking the monotonous and sometimes dull job of bottling.

Harvest Dates: 11th – 15th February 2008. Lamont, Errington, Goble – Garratt, Barton and Cook Vineyards.

Blend: Swan Valley Shiraz.

Fermentation: The free-run fraction of our premium shiraz parcels were fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain the fresh fruit characters.

Bottling Date: 28th May, 4th June 2008.

Quantity: 748 cases.

Colour: Vibrant bright pink!.
Bouquet: Lifted aromas of apple blossum, rose petals, pomegranite and candy.
Palate: Medium sweet red berry flavours combine on the palate with zippy acid structure giving the wine freshness and length.

Cellaring: The Bunyip is a drink now style. It pairs perfectly with Asian dishes or is great on its own.
Most of all, the Bunyip is meant to be FUN!
