4.5 Star Rating :: James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009
Lamont's Family Reserve 2005 93/100
Strong colour; as usual, a multi-regional blend of the best parcels from the vintage; a luscious but noy jammy mix of red and black fruits
Lamont's Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 92/100
Retains excellent crimson hue; classic medium-bodied cabernet characters, with blackcurrant and cassis fruit.
Lamont's Shiraz 2005 90/100
Medium-bodied, but with excellent drive and thrust through the long, well-focused palate, easliy disposing of the alcohol, with its attractively earthy/spicy fruit and savoury tannins.

The Family Reserve 2002 - 4 Stars
Powerful cedary oak on the complex nose. Ripe blackberry fruit palate complemented by some very well-handled oak and good tannin structure.
Lamont's Chardonnay 2003 - 4 Stars
"An Amazing wine", said one judge,"but not very chardonnay like". An almost essence-like bouquet with quite sweet long, lingering, rich toasty flavours.
Lamont's Chardonnay 2004 - 4 Stars
Very prominent complex, charry, barrel-ferment/malo characters. Ripe melons and cashews show through on the nose and fresh fruit and nutty oak on the palate. Drying acid/oak finish.
